The Tourism Study Program at UGM, along with other study programs within the Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB) and the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIPOL) at UGM, underwent an ACQUIN International Accreditation visit on Wednesday and Thursday, December 10-11, 2025. During this visit, the Tourism Program at FIB UGM received recognition and unconditional accreditation from ACQUIN while awaiting the official results.
The Head of the FIB’s Tourism Study Program, Dr. Wiwik Sushartami, M.A., said that this achievement is a milestone in the implementation of quality assurance in the Tourism Study Program, covering all three pillars of Indonesian higher education: education, research, and community service.
Dr. Wiwik Sushartami, M.A. also added that this achievement adds to the international recognition of the quality of learning, research, and community service of the Tourism Study Program after previously receiving Excellent Accreditation from the National Accreditation Agency for Higher Education (BAN PT).

ACQUIN International Accreditation is international recognition for various fields of study, including social sciences and humanities. This Germany-based accreditation agency has more than two decades of experience as an international higher education accreditation agency.
The Tourism Study Program has completed the accreditation forms, which cover teaching quality assurance and study program management, research implementation quality assurance and road map, as well as community service. In a period of almost two years, the accreditation process was concluded with a visit by the main assessor for the field of tourism, Professor John Ebejer of the University of Malta.
The implementation of this international accreditation is in line with SDG 4, SDG 16, and SDG 17.
