ACADEMIC ADMINISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
Students who plan to take the undergraduate thesis in their Study Plan must meet the following requirements:
- Have a status as an active student.
- Have completed at least 108 credits.
- Maintain a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.00.
- Have successfully passed the prerequisite undergraduate thesis/course.
SUPERVISION
- The study program assigns one thesis supervisor to each student and submits a request for a Decree (SK) of supervision to the dean.
- The dean issues the decree for thesis supervision.
- Students are obliged and entitled to receive regular supervision, with the procedures outlined in the procedure manual of each study program.
- Guidance is scheduled for 1 (one) semester.
- If students are unable to complete the undergraduate thesis within one semester, the study program must conduct an evaluation to find an appropriate solution.
- Thesis writing should follow the Undergraduate Thesis Writing Guidelines.
THESIS DEFENSE
- The undergraduate thesis defense takes place once the thesis supervisor or appointed party confirms in writing that the thesis is ready for examination.
- The defense must be conducted no later than two weeks after the thesis is submitted.
- The defense panel consists of three examiners, including the thesis supervisor.
- The defense panel includes the chairperson, member, and the thesis supervisor; both the chairperson and the supervisor also serve as a member.
- The defense can be held a maximum of two times if the first defense is failed or if revisions are submitted late.
- Thesis revisions must be completed and approved by all examiners, as indicated by their signatures, no later than two months from the defense date.
- If the student fails to complete the revisions within the given deadline, a re-examination will be required.
- If the second examination also results in failure or late submission of revisions, the student will be considered to have failed and must withdraw from the Undergraduate Program of the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, UGM, or be declared unable to complete their studies (drop out).
REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS OF THESIS DEFENSE
Students must email the undergraduate thesis manuscript and the required registration documents to the Tourism Study Program Admin at pariwisata.fib@ugm.ac.id with the subject line: “REGISTRATION OF UNDERGRADUATE THESIS DEFENSE OF TOURISM STUDY PROGRAM_ (Student Name).”
- Files to be Submitted as Attachments:

- Proof of approval from the supervisor stating the thesis is ready for examination (email or WhatsApp screenshot).
- Temporary transcript of grades approved by the academic advisor (DPA) (screenshot of approval).
- PDF version of the temporary academic transcript.
- Scanned copy of the Student ID Card.
- Proof of the latest Tuition Fee payment and/or re-registration History from Simaster.
- Scanned copy of the thesis guidance card (if available).
- Digital file of a coloured passport photo.
- Undergraduate thesis manuscript (PDF format).
- Undergraduate thesis manuscript (Word format).
- Two soft copies of E-Books on Tourism.
- TURNITIN report of the undergraduate thesis manuscript (PDF format) with a similarity index of no more than 20%.
- Three printed copies of the undergraduate thesis manuscript (to be sent to the Department of Archaeology after sending the thesis defense registration requirements via email).
- A PPT presentation file for a 15-minute session (including Background, Formulation of the Problem, Research Methods, Results, and Conclusions).
- Two 3×4 colour printed photographs (to be submitted along with the printed manuscript).

- Photo Size and Format

- Colored photo with a white background.
- File size should not exceed 2 MB, with a 3:4 size ratio in .jpg format (photos that do not meet the required size/ratio should be cropped).
- The photo should be proportional (face occupying 25%-30% of the total photo area).
- The distance between the head and the left and right borders should be approximately equal.
- The edge of the shoulders should not be visible in the photo.

- Men: White shirt, black tie, and black suit (not the alma mater suit).
- Women: White shirt and black blazer (not the alma mater suit).
- Women wearing hijab: White shirt, black suit (not the alma mater suit), and a black headscarf tucked into the shirt.

- Position

- Body and head must be upright and aligned, facing forward.
- Both earlobes must be visible for those not wearing a veil.
- No glasses, veils, masks, or other facial obstructions are allowed.

- Photo Quality

- The photo must be clear/sharp, not blurry.
- Scanned or reproduced photos from mobile phones are not acceptable.
