In commemoration of its 16th anniversary, the Tourism Study Program at FIB UGM held a Fun Run event on Saturday (20/12), attended by no less than 200 participants. This running event was organized as a gathering to foster togetherness within the family of the UGM Tourism Study Program.

The 16th Anniversary Fun Run of the Tourism Study Program, Faculty of Humanities, UGM was held on the campus grounds of the Faculty of Humanities, UGM, with a route that circled part of the UGM campus. This route is popularly known as the ‘cat route’ because it resembles the shape of a cat. In this event, participants were divided into two large groups, namely the 5-kilometer running group and the 3-kilometer group. In addition to the running event, this activity also featured entertainment activities such as singing and dancing.
The event, which was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Cultural Sciences UGM, aimed to strengthen the relationship between students, lecturers, alumni, and partners of the Tourism Study Program FIB UGM. In its 16th year, the Tourism Study Program is expected to continue contributing to the dynamics of Indonesian tourism in the form of tourism education, research, and community service.
The Dean of the Faculty of Cultural Sciences at UGM, Prof. Dr. Setiadi, S.Sos., M.Si, expressed his appreciation for the synergy between the Tourism Study Program at FIB UGM and various partners and alumni families. The Dean emphasized that this excellent synergy must continue in order to advance the Tourism Study Program in particular and FIB in general, which will celebrate its 80th anniversary in 2026.
In her remarks, the Head of the Tourism Study Program at FIB UGM, Dr. Wiwik Sushartami, M.A., expressed her appreciation for the participation of the Alumni Family of the Tourism Study Program at FIB UGM (KASPAGAMA) in organizing the 16th Anniversary Fun Run of the Tourism Study Program. In addition, the Head of the Study Program also emphasized the importance of collaboration and partnership between the Study Program and the alumni family.

The Tourism Study Program at FIB UGM was established on December 19, 2019, with Establishment Decree No. 528/P/SK/HT/2009, although it only began accepting its first batch of students in the odd semester of the 2010/2011 academic year. The Tourism Program at FIB UGM is one of the first non-vocational undergraduate tourism programs in Indonesia. The Tourism Program at FIB UGM is uniquely located within the humanities faculty, which implies its approach to tourism phenomena from a humanities perspective.
The commemoration of the 16th anniversary through the Fun Run 2025 event is in line with SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) and SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being).
