The Bachelor in Tourism Program at the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Universitas Gadjah Mada, continues to demonstrate its commitment to enhancing the quality of higher education in the field of tourism. After successfully obtaining Accreditation A for the period from May 9, 2023, to May 9, 2028, from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT), the program pursued further quality enhancement by submitting the Conversion Supplement Instrument (ISK) to upgrade its Accreditation A to Excellent Accreditation, in accordance with the new national policy.
In 2025, the Bachelor in Tourism Program officially achieved Excellent Accreditation status, with the decree effective from April 22, 2025, to May 9, 2028. This achievement marks an important milestone in strengthening the program’s national and global competitiveness in tourism education.
As part of its continuous development strategy, the program is currently in the process of applying for international accreditation (ACQUIN) and is preparing its Self-Assessment Report. In addition, the program is designing the 2025 Curriculum, which will be implemented starting from the 2025/2026 Academic Year.
The new curriculum adopts an innovative approach offering multiple streams, including specialization tracks and double degree programs, allowing students greater flexibility to explore courses based on their interests and career goals. It is expected that the combination of Excellent Accreditation, the ongoing international accreditation process, and curriculum innovation will further drive the realization of high-quality learning, align with global needs, and support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
Through these initiatives, the Bachelor in Tourism Program at FIB UGM reaffirms its commitment to producing adaptive, competent graduates who can actively contribute to sustainable development at both national and international levels.
