Bachelor Program in Tourism Studies is one of the leading programs at Universitas Gadjah Mada. The Tourism Study Program is committed to producing Bachelor of Tourism graduates (S.Par) who are capable of researching, analyzing, and developing activities in the tourism sector. The program aims to create graduates with a multicultural perspective, who can develop their knowledge in line with modern advancements, are moral, have leadership qualities, are concerned about humanitarian issues, and are able to compete to achieve national excellence.
Vision
To become a Tourism Study Program with a Pancasila-based perspective by emphasizing teaching based on the latest research findings, thus being able to contribute to solving problems in tourism, culture, humanity, and national issues, addressing local, national, and global challenges.
Mission
- To provide tourism education based on a curriculum that is responsive to the development and dynamics of tourism science, both locally, nationally, and globally.
- To strengthen the capabilities of academic staff and educational personnel so that the Tourism Study Program can become a research-oriented program, with the learning process based on the latest research conducted by lecturers and students.
- To conduct community service based on active involvement of the community as participants in tourism activities.
Career Prospects
The UGM Tourism Study Program produces graduates who can pursue careers both domestically and internationally as researchers, experts, and managers in tourism destinations, travel businesses, and hospitality. Graduates can also work as practitioners in the creative industries and MICE (Meeting, Incentive, Convention, and Exhibition). Career opportunities include working as managers/staff in tourist destinations, hotels, and tour & travel agencies; tourism researchers and consultants; restaurant managers; staff in tourism offices; event organizers; staff and professionals in airlines and cruise lines, and more.
